SSAIB

SSAIB is a specialist Certification Body for providers of electronic security systems, fire detection and alarm systems and guarding security services.

From our inception, our aim has been to promote high standards within these sectors and to provide recognition for those who achieve them. SSAIB is an SIA-Approved assessment body specialising in the Security Industry.

Our aim is to provide a comprehensive range of certification services for all security services and fire systems providers and we will continue to develop our scope of accreditation in line with the needs of existing certificated providers, at all times anticipating changes in the direction of the market.

SSAIB’s approach is inclusive of small and larger providers alike. We offer guidance and encouragement to certificated firms and to firms considering certification. We have in excess of 1200 companies of all sizes on our register, which means that we represent the greatest number of security services providers within the sector. Our remit is to ensure high standards of service and business ethics within the community of security, guarding and fire services providers in the interest of end users.

SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board) only certificates those companies who demonstrate competence and financial probity in the management of their business. Certificated providers must also demonstrate technical competence and ethical conduct when it comes to providing security services for your home and your family.

SSAIB certification means that you can be confident in the quality of service provided to protect your home. Also, increasingly insurers require evidence that all reasonable steps have been taken to mitigate risk. An SSAIB certificated provider will meet or exceed your insurer's requirements. 

SSAIB check the following so that you don't have to:

  • Personnel have been screened to the relevant British Standard
  • Competence and experience of management and staff
  • Insurance cover is relevant to the level and nature of work undertaken
  • Premises are adequate for their activity and that the security of documentation and records is ensured
  • That best-practice standards are maintained.
  •  That sufficient staff and resources are employed to provide the services offered
  • Compliance with all relevant standards and codes of practice, British or European
  • Identity cards are carried.

SSAIB’s skilled assessors regularly check all of the above and the quality of workmanship undertaken to ensure that standards are maintained.
